Last week, we unveiled the Metalayer, our interoperability network designed to connect rollups and scale Ethereum to 10,000 chains and beyond. Today, we’re excited to present the next evolution of our Rollup Platform that brings this vision to life: the Rollup Engine.

The Rollup Engine is a complete reimagining of how rollups are deployed and managed on Caldera. It transforms rollups from static chains into dynamic, programmable infrastructure that can adapt to your application's needs. Think of it as the AWS for rollups—a platform that lets you provision and customize blockchain infrastructure in a few clicks, or even via API calls.
Dynamic Infrastructure Management and Features
The Rollup Engine provides unprecedented control over your rollup infrastructure. You can upgrade node software versions to enable new features like Arbitrum's BoLD protocol or ZKSync native interop, and scale computational resources on demand. Our automated deployment system is built with robust retry logic and validation, ensuring reliable operation even for complex configurations.
The Rollup Engine also makes it easier for technology partners to offer their solutions through Caldera. Whether it's Espresso's confirmation layer or alternative DA providers, partners can now deploy their technology across our network of chains. The Engine can now handle complex protocol deployments, including those with off-chain components, through our new system with sophisticated retry mechanisms and post-deployment validation.
